	The first application for SOPHIA was developed on US Patent abstracts (1976 onwards). This is approximately 6 million documents and is updated on a weekly basis as new information is released by the USPTO.

	January, 2010. Semantic Search of Medline USA. This collection consists of 18 million medical journal abstracts.

SOPHIA can be used on either of these repositories to understand query contexts, discover themes and concepts hidden within the repository, unearth documents that would remain hidden by using other more conventional approaches and to ensure the correct meaning of each document is understood.

In addition you have access to ancillary SOPHIA services including:

sharing your searches with colleagues,
intelligent alerts - when new information is published related to a previous search you have executed,
