SOPHIA Search Limited is an innovative young Company established to commercialise  the unique Intellectual Property (IP) developed by a long period of collaborative research  between the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland and the St. Petersburg State University in Russia.

The genesis of SOPHIA

• 15 man years of research and development

• Goal of the research was to specifically address the limitations of existing conventional search tools using sophisticated Artificial Intelligence techniques

• Artificial Intelligence capability models how humans communicate, understand and construct meaning and focuses on understanding context.

• Company established by UUTech, the University of Ulster's commercial development wing and The state University of St. Petersburg, Russia, through funding from Invest Northern Ireland the University of Ulster and Queens University Belfast.

As SOPHIA is a generic search & discovery tool which can be applied to any data set in any domain, we have adopted a very open and collaborative approach to commercialisation.

We seek to develop meaningful, long lasting and mutually beneficial commercial partnerships with companies who can benefit from the power that SOPHIA delivers and who can assist us in taking SOPHIA to market.
